USE OF STREET RIGHT OF WAY
An owner of property may place
and maintain on the right of way,
posts, fences, walls, stakes or
other obstructions not more than
three (3) feet high, and may plant
or maintain trees and shrubs on
such right of way, provided that
none of these items may be placed,
planted, or permitted to remain
within six (6) feet of the paved
surface of any public street. Any
overhang from plantings may not
protrude within six (6) feet of the
paved surface, or stand no more
than ten eClO) feet high.
PINE KNOLL SHORES EMS SQUAD #65
J Squad #65 held its
monthly meeting at Town
Hall on July 3, 1995.
There were 15 calls for
the month of June.
Squad members have been
^ asked to review and
comment on~notice from the state of
changes which affect EMS and to
comment on them to the Chief.
Ambulance #1 has been having
continuing mechanical problems.
All EMT-D's were reminded to
schedule their ER time - for the
Kathy Trommer, Training Officer,
gave a demonstration of the new
head immobilization system. Three
sets have been purchased, one for
each ambulance and one in the four-
wheel drive vehicle.
Summer season is in full swing,
which means more calls for the
squad. The squad is ready to answer
any calls anytime.
During one of the calls in June,
Joe Green, husband of EMS driver.
Marge Green, was taken to the
hospital and subsequently passed
away. Our prayers are with Marge
and her family. We commend Marge
for her composure and poise during
this trying time. We honor Marge as
"EMS Member of the Month.

Please take care of yourself and
your children or grandchildren when
riding bicycles on town,
streets. The law re-'
quires you stop at all\
stop signs, and ride^
with the flow of traffic.l
Don't allow chilren to.
zigzag down streets.i
Teach them to stop, look'
and listen before they]
leave the driveway.
And remember, the
speed limit is 25 mph on”
all town streets. Don't put your
police department in the position
of fining you. If you insist on
speeding, it will cost you $60.00
court costs, plus the fine, as well
as an increase in your insurance.
