In the summer the increase in the local population requires increased collections. The Commissioners have tried to come up with a program of collection which will be adequate for our needs and still maintain reasonable fiscal control. Pine Knoll Shores is offering, upon request, cursory fire prevention inspections of single family dwellings. There is no fee for this limited visual inspection. These courtesy inspections will involve a brief review of the premises to identify any actual or potential fire hazard. If any problems are found, suggestions and recom- mendations will be made to abate the hazard. Again, these inspections are voluntary and will not involve any enforcement activity. Property owners requesting courtesy fire inspections will need to sign an authorization and release form prior to the inspection. COLLEGE REIMBURSEMENT A college degree reimbursement opportunity between Town employees and the Town was approved. This agreement will reimburse the employee for college tuition and books in return for the employee's maintaining certain grade averages and staying in the employment of the Town at a full and normal work schedule. After completion of the degree program, the employ ee must remain with the town for at least two years. If the employee should fail to fulfill the terms of the agreement, the employee will be required to reimburse the town for all monies spent. 2
