TOWN HALL CLOSING The Town Hall Administrative offices will be closed Thursday and Friday, November 23 and 24 to celebrate the Thanksgiving holiday. From PKS Police!I!1 Remember to lock cars parked in your driveway at night. This is a deterrent against the type of car thefts that have been happening in the local towns this fall. PLANNING AND INSPECTIONS REPORT For the month of September, 1995, Pine Knoll Shores issued one residential permit valued at $206,500 and 16 miscellaneous permits with a construction value of $27,519. PKS FIRE DEPARTMENT has received a grant from the Volunteer Fire Dept. Fund/NC Dept, of Insurance for $11,250. Matching funds were budgeted for this grant and new equipment will be purchased to meet OSHA requirements. Special thanks to Andy Turney for his work in procuring this grant. REMINDER FROM FIRE & RESCUE CREWS We are asked to remind residents of the following section from the Pine Knoll Shores Municipal Code "Every single family residential structure within the town shall post on the structure, or otherwise on the lot upon which such structure is located, a numerical street address assigned by the Town. The numerical street address must be readily visible from the nearest street right-of-way." Check to see that the number on your property is highly visible. This is especially important for fire and rescue response. PROCLAMATION Mayor Hasulak read a proclamation honoring veterans of World War II and proclaimed the week of November 4-11, 1995 as World War II Veterans Week. ANCIENT MARINERS Our new season started with a bang! The follow ing were the "high rollers" in the first two weeks: for the men, Don Forster, 217, and Bob Gallo, 201; and for the women, Janie Briley, 181, Del Ericksen, 196, and Edna Kent, a sub, 186. Joan Smith PINE KNOLL SHORES EMS SQUAD #65 Pine Knoll Shores EMS Squad 65's monthly meeting was held October 3 at Town Hall. The Squad has applied for a matching grant to help purchase an ambulance. A crew and ambulance stood by for two football games at West Carteret High School. Charlie & Patti Swetz and Bruce Newman were our volunteers on September 8th, and Teddy Wimberley, Ted Lindblad and Rita Whalen on October 5th. We are planning our annual Christmas party in Early December. The committee is Joan Libby, Lois Heffelfinger and Rita Whalen. Lois Heffelfinger and Teddy Wimberley completed a 16 hour course in September to recertify in BTLS. This has to be updated every three years. We have 2 members attending EMT class, 2 in an EMT-I class, and one person taking the EMT-D certification course. We need information to make a list of ail handicapped or bedridden that live in condominiums in Pine Knoll Shores. We would appreciate if a Manager or Director of the Condo Associations would contact Town Hall with this information. EMS, Police and Fire Departments want to serve and assure the safety of all residents of the Town. This information could safe precious minutes in response time and help assure the safety of our residents. Teddy Wimberley, Chief 2 .
