For the past ten years Eleanor had visited her sister, Evelyn Smith, in McGinnis Point and had grown to love this area. When she retired from Exxon she knew exactly where she would be going. Eleanor loves to read mystery stories and books about international intrigue. She enjoys watching TV, especially sports. When I asked her if she had any special thoughts on Pine Knoll Shores, she said it was a nice place to retire and she would highly recommend it. Judy Poit Paula and Arthur(Art) Stadiem moved into their home at 124 Beechwood Drive in mid-July. They own a condo at Summer Winds and had been vacationing in this area for many years. They started to look for a home with proximity to the ocean and a place where they could have their boat right outside their door. They found it in Pine Knoll Shores. Art and Paula were born and raised in Kinston, NC. They were "high school sweethearts", having met at Kinston High School. They have two sons; Joel, age 14, and Alan, age 16. Both are avid surfers and experts with the body board. Art is in the retail clothing business and Paula is a homemaker. Paula loves tennis, and Art plays sometimes also. Art enjoys boating and bottom fishing and they are both looking forward to exploring Pine Knoll Shores on bicycles. They are looking forward to spending as much time as possible in their lovely vacation home.
