r TOAST TO PINE KNOLL SHORES of Pine Knoll Shores we gladly sing, for our home town let praises ring, For Alice Hoffman's judgment keen When she bought this land in 1918! Chorus (may be repeated after each 4 line stanza) Here's a toast to Pine Knoll Shores We can boast of Pine Knoll Shores, Friendly folks, and open doors. It's a neighborly sort of town! The Roosevelts were Alice's heirs, They loved this place, a dream was theirs They laid the plans, and pulled the oars. And developed her land into Pine Knoll Shores. From the 60's on,people came to build. And bit by bit the town was filled With folks whose pride helped to create This town that has a future great! We incorporated in '73, The Roosevelt's dream a realty; To them we owe our heartfelt thanks For our lifestyle here out on Bogue Banks. Two years ago in '93. We had our 20th anniversary; The first one of the many scores Of years that will grace Pine Knoll Shores. We enjoy the best of sea and sound. Parks and beaches, the best around; A well run town, with facilities That help us lead a life of ease. What makes life very special here Is the spirit of each "volunteer," With neighbor helping neighbor, friendship soars. That's the tradition here at Pine Knoll Shores. (May be sung to the tune of "Blue Tail Fly") Author - Anonymous
