DECEMBER BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS MEETING RECOGNITION FORMER MAYOR Mayor Hasulak presented to Mrs. Kenneth Haller, wife of former Mayor Kenneth Haller, a framed resolution from the N.C League of Municipalities recognizing his lasting contributions to local government. Mayor Hasulak also recognized Mary Korff who eulogized the late Frank Johnson and his efforts on behalf of the Town. MAYOR - MAYOR PRO TEM Following a unanimous vote by the Board of Commissioners, David E. Hasulak was elected Mayor and C. Reese Musgrave was elected Mayor Pro Tem. The department heads for the next two years are: Bob Gallo, Finance and Administration; Mary Kanyha, Streets and Public Property; Reese Musgrave, Police; Evan Roderick, Planning and Inspections; Emily White, Emergency Services. HWY. 58 - CONTROL LIGHT A second letter has been mailed to Bob Mattocks, DOT representative, requesting assistance in obtaining a control light at Mimosa Blvd. and Hwy. 58. LAND USE PLAN UPDATE The Land Use Plan Update Committee met on November 28, 1995 with Planner Dale Holland. Another meeting is scheduled for January. Lois Heffelfinger is serving as Chairman. Members are Joan Lamson, Beal Marks, Al Schmidt, Charlotte Sheard and Don Smith.
