(from Febraary, 1996, "Shoreline") PKS EMS Squad Matching Grant to purchase AMBULANCE - $15,000 PKS Fire Department Matching Grant to purchase FIREFIGHTB^fG EQUIPMENT - $11,125 FEBRUARY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS MEETING TAX COLLECTION The Board voted unanimously to advertise uncollected 1995 ad valorem taxes in the Carteret News Times on March 3, 1996, in compliance with N.C. General Statute 105-369. Taxes collected year to date are $578,387, 97% of the tax levy. NEW AMBULANCE The new ambulance has arrived! Through the efforts of the EMS Squad, a matching funds grant was obtained from the State for $15,000 and your tax dollars provided the remainder. This ambulance is larger and will give a more comfortable ride. The equipment will also be more accessible to EMT-D's for better patient care. LAND USE PLAN The Land Use Plan Committee met on February 6, 1996, with Planner Dale Holland and Kathy Vinson, District Planner for the NC Division of Coastal Management. Ms. Vinson spoke to the Committee on the guidelines and regulations required by the State in updating the Land Use Plan. Another meeting is scheduled for February 20,1996, at 3:00 p.m. at Town Hall. Watch the local paper for notice of when future meetings are scheduled. Citizens are encouraged to attend these important meetings. The Land Use Plan Committee will consider the future development of Pine Knoll Shores. The final document will have a large part in determining the guidelines for the future development of Pine Knoll Shores. A final plan, when completed, will be voted on by the Board of Commissioners.
