TO THE CITIZENS OF PINE KNOLL SHORES
As Mayor, and on behalf of the Board of Commissioners,
I would like to thank the Emergency Management team,
the Town employees and all volunteers for the good job
they did in the aftermath of Hurricane Bertha. We have all
learned from this experience.
We also learned that people will wait until the last
minute to take care of their Reentry Permits (400). Town Hall
has to close to give us time to evacuate.
JULY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS MEETING

A Public Hearing was held before the regularly scheduled Board meeting on July 9,
1996, to get input from citizens on the FY 1996 Land Use Plan. There were no comments
from those present and the Board approved forwarding the Plan to N.C. Management for
review.
N. C. AQUARIUM
There will be a Public Hearing prior to the August 13, 1996, Town Board meeting
concerning the expansion of the Aquarium within their designated acreage.
WATER REPORT
The Ad Hoc Water Committee met with Atlantic Beach officials on June 24, 1996.
Mutual benefits from working together on a water system were discussed. A contract with
Colonial Engineering for the design of a new water system was approved by the Board. The
sharing of this design would be beneficial to both towns.
