We have all learned from this experience. We also learned that people will wait until the last minute to take care of their Reentry Permits (400). Town Hall has to close to give us time to evacuate. JULY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS MEETING FY 1996-97 LAND USE PLAN A Public Hearing was held before the regularly scheduled Board meeting on July 9, 1996, to get input from citizens on the FY 1996 Land Use Plan. There were no comments from those present and the Board approved forwarding the Plan to N.C. Management for review. N. C. AQUARIUM There will be a Public Hearing prior to the August 13, 1996, Town Board meeting concerning the expansion of the Aquarium within their designated acreage. WATER REPORT The Ad Hoc Water Committee met with Atlantic Beach officials on June 24, 1996. Mutual benefits from working together on a water system were discussed. A contract with Colonial Engineering for the design of a new water system was approved by the Board. The sharing of this design would be beneficial to both towns. NATIONAL FLOOD INSURANCE Pine Knoll Shores has been presented a certificate by the N.C. Department of Crime Control & Public Safety, Division of Emergency Management, National Flood Insurance Program Section for achieving a Class 8 in the National Flood Insurance Program.
