Gas up your vehicles Turn off main power and propane tank before leaving town. ► ► ► ► JULY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS MEETING TAX COLLECTION FY 1996-97 The final tax collection figures for FY 1996-97 are $606,861. This leaves only $62 uncollected and is being handled through the Town Attorney's office. The exceptional manner in which Pine Knoll Shores citizens handle their tax responsibility is very commendable. Tax Collector Connie Shelton has done an excellent job in the collection process. The new tax bills will be mailed in late August. NEW CONSTRUCTION As most residents have observed, building in Pine Knoll Shores is increasing each year. This new construction adds approximately five to six million dollars to the tax base annually. HURRICANE INFORMATION At the annual Hurricane Awareness meeting that took place on June 12, it was announced that Radio Station 107.3 will be carrying all update information before and after the hurricane. Information on evacuation and reentry will be given as the news becomes available.
