TOWN OF PINE KNOLL SHORES CURBSIDE YARD-TRASH COLLECTION SERVICE AND RIGHT-OF-WAY MAINTENANCE d) The last Tuesday of each month. Waste Industries picks up and removes yard trash (yard waste consisting solely of vegetative matter resulting from landscape maintenance) from the single family residences and approved multi family projects in the Town. Such items shall include limbs, debris, leaves, straw, clipped shrubbery, bushes, grass and weed trimmings. b) Leaves, debris, straw, clippings or trimmings must be bagged, boxed or containerized. Limbs, shrubbery or other long items must be securely tied in bundles no longer than four (4) feet in length and no larger than eighteen (18) inches in diameter. Each bag, box, container or bundle of yard waste must not exceed fifty (50) pounds in weight. c) USE OF STREETS RIGHT-OF- WAY. An owner of property may place and maintain on such right-of-way posts, fences, walls, stakes or other obstructions not more than three (3) feet high, and may plant or maintain trees and shrubs on such right-of-way, provided however, that none of the foregoing items may be placed, planted, or permitted to remain within six (6) feet of the paved suri^ce of any public street. Any overhang from plantings may not protrude within six (6) feet of the paved surface at a height of less than ten (10) feet. d) To maintain a neat appearance of our Town, yard waste for pickup should not be placed on right-of-way until the weekend before the monthly pickup. "If yard waste is not prepared according to Waste Industry guidelines, it will not be picked up. It then becomes the responsibility of the homeowner to remove the debris". SAFETY RULE For the safety of pedestrians and cyclists, please make sure that any soil or mari from your unpaved driveway is cleaned off the roads back onto the driveway. Loose marl and soil on concrete or asphalt roads can cause dangerous falls. Loose gravel on roads can be thrown by vehicle tires and cause damage or injur/. GUARDIAN AD LITEM SERVICES * Volunteer Guardians ad Litem is needed to represent the best interests of abused and neglected children in Juvenile Court. There are no special educational requirements for volunteers who are given 30 hours of training and paired with a program attorney before being assigned to a case. Responsibilities include Investigation of cases, networking with human services personnel, maintaining confidentiality and reporting to the Court on the child's behalf.
