Hurricane Bonnie provided worldwide notoriety for Pine Knoll Shores. This
photograph appeared in many papers throughout the country including Alaska
and New York. The photograph below was published in a paper in Sweden. Adrian Harrold
reads at Pine Knoll Shores, N.C., among tires washed up on the beach from an offshore
artificial reef during Hurricane Bonnie.
