Pc^ 8 The Shoreline November, 1999 MEET YOUR NEW NEIGHBORS \ Polly and Howard Honbarrier had lived In PKS at 130 Oakleaf Drive for about 10 years, when they decided to move to Florida - but, they missed the beauty and tranquility of PKS and their thoughts wooed them back. They missed it. So they bought a newly built home at 126 Mimosa and love it. In fact, they own three homes, one in Salisbury, NC, and one in Sparta, Florida. They split their time three ways. They both have mothers who reside in Western, NC. An unusual thing happened when they lived here before. Their neighbor was Bob Winslow and lo and behold their new home on Mimosa, you guessed it, their next door neighbor is Bob Winslow (no relation to the one on Oakleaf). What a coincidence! Howard was born in Salisbury NC; Polly was born in West Jefferson in the NC mountains. Howard graduated from Gaston Technical Institute where he met Polly. They are now married 35 l/2years. Polly graduated from Appalachian State University and was administrative secretary for the State Board in Raleigh. Then she taught at the Gov. Morehead School, a NC State School for the blind and vision impaired. Howard worked in Raleigh at the Research Triangle, then did residential construction, then opened up his own hardware store in Apex, NC. They spent some time at Harkers Island and would come into Morehead City to shop. They had a friend in PKS on Oakleaf Drive. They came over to visit and they were not home. They drove around PKS and loved the lot on Oakleaf and they bought . it, built here and so on. ( Polly loves to travel and read and enjoys golf. Howard likes golf, fishing, walking the beach and watching our beautiful sunsets. His biggest love of all is his Honda Goldwing motorcycle. They have a two-year old Chiwawa called Tiger. Tiger loves to ride inside his master's jacket on the motorcycle. Paul bought the house in May of 1998. He had been living in Atlantic Beach where he served as the Mayor of that Town, He was subsequently elected Judge of the District Court in 1996. Amy is completing her education at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill where she will receive her degree in Journalism this coming December. Paul liked the quiet, the beach amenities and the trees in Pine Knoll Shores so he started looking for a house here and found the perfect one in a wonderful neighborhood. He said he has the greatest neighbors. Paul and Amy both love outdoor activities, sports and cooking. Amy enjoys horseback riding as well. Paul really loves the sense of community here and they enjoy living in Pine Knoll Shores very much. Submitted by: Judy Poit
