Summer Reading Program for elementary school children 12 years and under. The Read-To-Me Program for preschool ages 5 and under and the Summer Reading Club for grade schools K-6. The registration and kickoff date is July 1st 10:30 a.m. at the library. The Summer Reading Program will run from July 1st - July 30th. Reception for Artists on Friday, July 12th at 3:30 p.m. at the library. Come and meet Walter Bone, Ruth Price and Shirley Gambrell. This event is sponsored by the Friends of the Library and is free and open to the public. Light refreshments will be served. Featured Artists for May: Featured in the Art Gallery is a collection of French landscapes in oil and some new paintings in oil and water color by Pine Knoll Shores artist Walter Bone. The Display cases feature hand painted porcelain pieces by award winning artists Ruth Price and Shirley Gambrell. New Books at the Library Adult Fiction: "Hunting Season" by Nevada Barr, "The Pursuit" by Johanna Lindsey, and "Southhampton Row" by Anne Perry Adult Non Fiction; "The Feng Shui of Abundance" by Susan Hilton, "The Knot book of Wedding Gowns" by Carley Roney and "One Nation" by the Editors of Life. Landmark Audio Titles: "The Lost Son" by Bernard B. Kerik, "The Smoke Jumper" by Nicholas Evans and "Violets Are Blue" by James Patterson. Activities for Children: Summer Reading Program Monday at 10:30 a.m. with Miss Ernestine.
