The first is a “Guest Chef’ program. The first Saturday of each month will feature a different chef from a local restaurant. The “Guest Chef” will prepare unique food dishes using fresh produce from the market. The chef will offer a taste as well as recipe cards with each dish. The second new program is “Seasonal Tastings”. One Saturday of each month a fresh fruit or vegetable from the market will be featured for tasting in a nutritious, healthy recipe. These tastings will be created by Diane Zepaltas, wellness dietitian with Craven County Health Department, and Ivy Reid, family and consumer sciences agent with Craven County Cooperative Extension. The first “Tasting” will be Saturday, April 23 and recipe cards will be available. You can check out future “Guest Chefs” and “Tastings” at www.newbemfarmersmarket.com. The April Flower Show The Annual Flower Show presented by The New Bern Garden Club, The River Bend Garden Club and The Trent Woods Garden Club, “Let’s Celebrate the Arts” will be held at The Bank of the Arts on Friday, April 29 from 2:00 p.m..-5:00 p.m. and Saturday, April 30 from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00p.m. at 317 Middle Street, New Bern. The show is opened free to the public and is the first time it will be held at the Bank of the Arts and in the Spring!
