While Beacon's Reach has been using such effluent to water its greenery since 1998, the new plant will allow for a more efficient and effective use of it in keeping the development's grounds looking beautiful. Emergency Services During October, there were 52 calls for service. Emergency medical services had 18 calls, 10 patients were transported and 7 required paramedic assistance. The fire department had 34 calls of which 15 were service calls, 6 activated alarms, 1 fire and 12 mutual aid. Police Report During October, there were 77 calls for service including 8 assist other agencies, 14 assist fire/EMS, 1 domestic, 1 town ordinance violation, 21 safety checks, 7 alarms and 3 unlocked doors. Thirteen citations involving 17 charges were issued for: 1 driving while impaired, 7 speeding, 1 driving while suspended, 2 drug violations, 1 alcohol violation and 5 other; 30 warning tickets were issued. There were 81 residence checks and 323 business checks. Schedule Performance Of Handel's Messiah Conductor James Ogle returns to New Bern for the 26* armiversary performance of George Frederick Handel's Messiah on Monday, December 15. There will be two performances. At 3 p.m. an open rehearsal is scheduled, with tickets at $15. The dress performance is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. with tickets at $20. The performance features the 130-member Craven Messiah Chorus made-up of singers from Beaufort, Craven, Carteret, Pamlico, Jones, and Wayne counties. Accompanying the singers will be an orchestra composed of members of the North Carolina Symphony, many whom return to New Bern each year for this occasion.
