used to be located at Atlantic Station is gone. The above photo shows what remains.
But fear not, this fast-food eatery will soon be replaced by another - Bojangles. Trivia
buffs should note that both establishments were born in North Carolina, Hardees in
Greenville in 1970 and Bojangles in Charlotte in 1977.

The March edition of The Shoreline
arrived later than scheduled. This was
not the fault of your mail carrier nor can
its delay be attributed to those involved in
affixing the labels to the paper and getting
them to the post office. No, the people at
the Station Club of Morehead City were
not the cause of the late delivery; in fact,
they performed exceedingly well after
receiving the labels at least two days later
than scheduled. Below the fold of the
front page of The Shoreline you received
in the mail this month there is an address
label in the lower right corner. It is this
small label that is the real culprit.
Nearly a year ago the idea of developing
a separate list of newspaper recipients was
initiated. Previous labels affixed to your
copy of The Shorelinewere generated from
a number of sources. One was the town's
tax list. In addition was a list of readers
who have moved from the community
but wished to continue receiving monthly
copies of the paper, and then there was
the list of part-time residents wanting
to receive the paper at their place of
current residence. All of these lists also
required monthly review and updates,
all of which were done by hand by the
paper's circulation manager.

The process of keeping these lists
accurate and up-to-date became
increasingly daunting for Yvette Barmen,
the circulation manager. Yvette devoted
countless hours each month reconciling
and updating each of these lists. Once
the decision to combine these lists
into a single comprehensive list was
finalized, she found herself spending
even more time, effort and energy on
that endeavor. Thanks to Yvette's efforts,
and periodic assistance from others, a
single comprehensive list was created
and ultimately transferred to an address
label-making program. After months
of hard work, various delays and much
frustration it appeared as though success
was at hand.
However, triumph wasnotyet achieved.
Although the comprehensive list and the
label-making program were in order, the
printer in The Shoreline office was not up
to the task. It did not have the capacity
to adequately handle the job. The only
way the labels were printed for that
month's issue was by feeding the sheets
individually by hand into the printer.
This tedious process consumed an
extraordinary amount of time expended
