Station Club Enterprises assists the town in mailing and delivering The Shoreline. We are grateful for that assistance. Station Club Enterprises is a private, non profit, community-based pre-vocational training center that provides services to persons with developmental challenges. Staff members, such as Contract Instructor, Ron Parker, train individuals who attend the center to perform jobs for communities and for business and industry. By employing the Station Club, organizations meet their needs while providing useful work and skills for individuals with developmental challenges. Linda Haller, who works in Program Support, encourages the use of the Station Club as a sub-contractor. She says using the Station Club as a work center "helps business and industry help themselves and turns on the power of work in the commvmity." Haller also states, "One of our goals is to inform the community about our program and the services we provide to persons in Carteret and Onslow Counties." With well over four million boys in the United States, it is the nation's foremost program for values-based training in leadership and exemplary character development. There are more than 1.2 million volunteers who dedicate their time and experience. As part of the anniversary celebration, the BSA created The National Hall of Leadership. S.CQUting^g reports: "The BSA lOO* Anniversary National Hall of Leadership is not a hall or building in the traditional sense, but its purpose is just as significant. The National Hall of Leadership provided an opportunity to recognize outstanding leadership by a Scout, registered leader, or Scouting volunteer who made a significant difference in the life of another by the extraordinary service they have given and the Scouting virtues they have modeled." Over 7,000 nominations were received nationwide, and one person from each council was selected.
