In response, the American Library Association and librar ies across our country sponsored a National Library Week—a time when staff librarians, friends of the ^ ^ libraries and the reading public Brita Flynn, Andrew Porter, and Donna Freeman would celebrate the contributions of libraries to communities across America. This years observance, 53 years later, will be April 10-16—a great time for all residents of Bogue Banks to stop by our library and thank staff members Brita Flynn, Donna Freeman and Andrew Porter for all they do to make our library experiences so positive. On Thursday April 13, members of the Friends of the Library Board will fete our librarians with a special lunch and express the appreciation of the community for their contributions to the richness of our lives on Bogue Banks. The Friends of the Library Board thanks the many people who came to the spring Used Book Sale April 1 and 2 and helped support the Bogue Banks Public Library with purchases—a win/win setup—good reading for buyers and funds for the library. Our next Used Book Sale will be August 12-13. www.ncfbins.com/carteret-worthington North Carolina Farm Bureau Mutual insurance Co. Farm Bureau Insurance of North Carolina, Inc.
