Pine Knoll Shores’ new Deputy Chief of Police Lorrie Lepore lives in Hubert with her husband, Joe, and two daughters, Tamera, age 9, and Tara, age 6. Although Lorrie has only been with the town since January of this year, she and her family have lived in Hubert, North Carolina, since 2007. They moved here from California. But neither Lorrie nor Joe is from California. Lorrie grew up in Colorado, and her husband is from New York. They recently added to their household a nine-week old puppy named Taz, an Australian Cattle Dog. The Country Club of the Crystal Coast hosted “Eileen Day” on May 18. Tennis players from the community gathered to honor Eileen Senich, a Carteret County tennis enthusiast who died suddenly October 26, 2010. Round robin tennis and lunch was enjoyed by 35 participants. The proceeds from the event went to Eileen’s favorite charity, Carteret County Domestic Vio lence Program. Presenting the check for $277 to Glenda Riggs, executive director of the Carteret County Domestic Violence Program are Chip Chamberlin, executive director of the Country Club of the Crystal Coast, Erma Thomas and Janet Furman, two of the organizers of the event. Not pictured is Teresa King, another organizer of the tennis playday. Pairing Wines with Jewelry. Wine Consultant Priscilla Livingston (second from left) and Laura Steele, diamond designer for Premier Designs (second from right) combined their products to benefit Hospice House on Thursday June 30, at the Country Club of the Crystal Coast.
