Vol. 8, No.8
A Shoreline Community, Pine Knoll Shores, N.C.
By Dan Law
Until this year, I had never paid much attention to the organized New Year's Day tradition of taking a swim or plunge into
the ocean. Well, this year my wife, Teresa, and several of our close friends announced they were going to take the plunge, so
I decided, since this year's proceeds would be donated to our new local Hospice House project, I would attend to report and
photograph the event.
The Penguin Plunge event required either preregistration online or registration in person on the morning of New Year's Day.
The registration form stated there was a $5 minimum donation to participate, and there were t-shirts available with a logo of
the event for donations of $20 or more. We all decided to wait until the morning of the plunge to register, and I was very sur
prised to see all of the families who came to register at the Crab's Claw Restaurant that morning.

lie, but it's far from the truth to declare
that fact as the reason his name is on
Dan Bullock was born in Goldsboro,
