Ms. Ambrose grew up on Long Island, where she always enjoyed arts and crafts. Later, she found this was also a way to teach and entertain her children and their friends. In 1975, she relocated her family to Atlantic Beach, and soon after, began her career as manager of Hi-Lites, a local ladies dress shop, where the constant mix and match of fabric shapes and colors began to stimulate her imagination and develop her artistic skills. Eventually, she settled in a home on Evans Street. She was immediately influenced by the history of Morehead City and Carteret County. Also, she has been able to travel to the Caribbean, and the vivid colors of that area became a part of her artwork. Today, Ms. Ambrose’s murals, painted furniture and canvasses can be found all over North Carolina. Her art can also be found at Art Escapes in Morehead Plaza. Showcases - The showcases will feature the wood carvings and unique fishing lures created by Joe Fulcher of Morehead City.
