I Face Behind the Badge The Pine Knoll Shores Police Department hosted its first ever “Meet the Face Behind the Badge” on January 28 at The Inn at Pine Knoll Shores (formerly the Clam Digger Inn). Officers met dozens of residents while enjoying breakfast and conversation. The goal of this event was to promote positive interactions between officers and residents and to discuss how to make Pine Kno Shores even better than it already is for residents and visitors. One of the smallest attendees, Carrsin Furtner, son of town residents Madeline and Kevin Furtner, is pictured here with a sign he made to show his support for our officers. The Pine Knoll Shores Police Department appreciates Carrsin and all of our supportive residents. Another event is in the works for the summer that will be especially kid friendly. Details will come shortly. —Photos courtesy of Officer Nancy Montanino Volunteers are needed to help hide the eggs at 8 a.m. on Saturday, April 15. Saturday, April 15 Gamer Park @ 10 a.m. Kids 12 and under This year the annual Easter Egg Hunt for children 12 and under will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, April 15, at Gamer Park on Oakleaf Drive in Pine Knoll Shores. We are excited and ready to hide over 2,500 plastic Easter eggs filled with bite-size candy. This year there will be a bumper crop of eggs, as well as separate sections for four age groups. The Easter Bunny has promised to arrive in style on our Pine Knoll Shores fire tmck, and we expect there will be a great community turnout. Cookies and lemonade will also be available. If anyone would like to contribute individually wrapped candies for the event, please drop off your donation at town hall. March 2017 I The Shoreline 15
