Pine Knoll Shores firemen JD Harris, Captain David Jones, Mike
Joyce and Kevin Littleton raise the 15' by 25' flag on the new
flagpole at the public safety building during the Memorial Day
dedication. Mayor Ken Jones was on hand for remarks during
the ceremony and led attendees in the Pledge of Allegiance. The
80-foot flagpole was made possible by a generous donation from

Family and friends gathered in mid-June to celebrate
Pine Knoll Shores resident Jim Wagner’s 100th birthday
at St. Francis by the Sea Episcopal Church in Salter
Path. Jim’s son Jay was in town from Australia for the
event as was daughter Joan Rial and her husband Dick,

Vietnam Veterans from Pine Knoll Shores placed a wreath
during the opening ceremony for the Vietnam Traveling
Memorial Wall on May 26. The traveling wall was available for
viewing during the Memorial Day holiday weekend. Pictured
