In the pictures above are shown (top) the well appointed office

Neat Trick
A young lady and her aunt, return
ing home from work on pay day, were
relieved of their money by a stick-up
man. The young lady rushed over to
the nearest policeman and exclaimed,
“I’ve been robbed of my pay and my
aunt’s pay.”
“Cut out the pig Latin and tell me
what happened,” the copper ordered.
Dense Fog
Husband (answering telephone): I
don’t know—call the weather bureau.
Pretty Young Wife: Who was that?
Husband: Some sailor, I guess. He
asked if the coast was clear.
V . . . —
Mrs. X, who has two sons in the
Marines and a daughter in the WAC,
was visiting a farm when she came
upon a youth of draft age milking a
cow.
“Young man,” she asked sternly, “why
aren’t you at the front?”
“’Cause there ain’t any milk at that
end, missus,” was the calm reply.
V . . . —
He: The first time you contradict
me I’m going to kiss you.
She: You are not.
Folks, you are now looking at “Mi-ss
Marshall Field 1964” or else we’ve lost
our gift of picking ’em. Isn’t she a
fine little lady—this granddaughter of
William Pierce, manager of Blanket
Department at our Worth Street of
fices? After a good long look at this
picture we understand what Wig
meant when he wrote something about
“Bill Pierce is losing some buttons
from his vest.”
Heard in an English air raid shelter:
“Is there a mackintosh in here that’s
large enough to keep two young ladies
warm?”
“No, but there’s a MacPherson who’s
willing to try,” was the reply from a
dark corner.”
