An Appeal
Confidentially, we’re on a spot.
Our service men are returning in
large numbers and each is anxious for
a copy of the Military Souvenir Book
let. The demand has been so great that
our supply is practically exhausted. We
are hoping that some of you will come
I to our rescue and turn in the extra
copies where there are more than one
to a family.
Issued some months ago in honor of
Company employees serving in the
armed forces the booklet carried.
Mr. Hodges Receives Degree from U. N. C.
Another signal honor ivas bestowed on Luther H. Hodges, Vice-President and
General Manager of the Manufacturing Division when his alma mater, the Uni
versity of North Carolina, awarded him an honorary Doctor of Laws degree.
Mr. Hodges was one of 39 distinguished men to receive this honor in a cere
mony at Chapel Hill on April 13th.
among other things, pictures of most
of our fighting men. The edition met
with such a reception that the demand
was terrific. We were swamped with
requests from every quarter. Although
a sufficient number were printed to in
sure each employee’s having a copy, our
supply now has dwindled to almost none.
Since one copy is enough for a family.
we are requesting that families having
extra copies please turn them in to the
Personnel department. In this way we
can give one to each returned service
man. These men will appreciate them
and We think they are certainly en
titled to a copy of their own.
Won’t you please turn in your extra
copies right away?
