ffight THE MILL WHISTLE July 8, 1946 Towel Mill Employees Retiring With Pension In this picture are shown Fieldale employees of Marshall Field and Company, Manufacturing Division, who were retired with pension as of June 30 under the Company's pension plan. They are, left to right, J. H. Going, J. 'W. Nunn, W. C. Cress, J. F. Dalton, Charles L. Merriman, G. L. Carter, and G. B. Hairston. O. F. Earbcur, a member of the group, was not present for the photograph. Bat boy is Douglas Jeffries, son of Manager Jeffries. Fieldale News Mr. and Mrs. Kyle S. Fulcher spent the week-end with the former’s parent^ in Patrick Springs. Mr. and Mrs. Glen Bullard announce the birth of a daughter, Phyllis Elva, on June 12. Mrs. Gordon Pruitt and children, Mary Jane and Michael, from Nashville, Tenn., are visiting Mr. and Mrs. Wade Koontz and daughter, Geneva. Miss 'Virginia Hudnall, daughter of Mrs. Daisy Hudnall, and Harvey Law less, son cf Mr. and Mrs. Ken Lawless, were married June 14th at the First Baptist Church in Martinsville. Mrs. Richard L. Martin remains ill at her home. Mr. and Mrs. Lewis T. Martin and Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Graham spent Sunday in Roanoke. They were accom panied by the Grahams’ small daught ers, Jane and Jean, who have been vis iting there the past two weeks. Pfc. Willie A. Crigger has returned to Farmingdale, N. Y., after spending a few days with his wife and daughter. Legrand Turner is now serving with the U. S. Navy. Mrs. Louise Crigger and daughter, Virginia, Jack Stovall, and Misses Billie Jane and Lucille Stovall visited Mr. and Mrs. Tom Stovall and daughters, Nancy and Judy, in Leaksville over the week-end. A Miss Lena Sue Turner spent the week- ' end in Nashville, Tenn. Mr. and Mrs. Jack Whitten announce the birth of a daughter, Mary Lee, June 21 at the Shackelford Hospital. This laughing youngster is Cecil O. French, Jr., grandson of Henry Chilton, Blanket mill. Cecil is now 13 months old, was younger when picture was made.
