Delay In Receiving
Equipment Hinders
Cafeteria Open’ng
The opening date of the Spray cafeter
ia, located in the Eggleston building op
posite the General Office, remains uncer
tain due to delays in receiving certain
items of equipment.
When the cafeteria is opened it will
be operated for the Central Y. M. C. A.
by the Slater System of Philadelphia.
Representatives of this firm will be in
the Spray area prior to the opening to
assist in working out the many problems
involved in launching a project of this
kind. The Slater System operates 65 such
concessions in the Philadelphia area and
is well known in this line of work.
Because of the small seating capacity,
it will be necessary to stagger the sche
dule. The present plan is to start serving
the first group from the Finishing Mill
at 11:15 a. m. It may be necessary to
make several changes in the schedule
during the first few weeks in order that
“waiting in line” might be kept to a
minimum.
Well prepared food will be served at
a reasonable price. Although the pub
lic will be allowed to use the cafeteria,
it may be necessary to restrict the use
to Fieldcrest employees during certain
hours. Plans for other than the noon
lunch hour, will be worked out by the
Slater representatives and announced
later.
