Members of Karastan Mutual Aid Committee It bh 0^. II Shown above are three of the five members of the Karastan committee for the United Mutual Aid Association. Left to right are: C. B. Barham, secre tary;* Cecil Coward and J. B. Reynolds, chairman of the unit board and its rep resentative on the Central Board of Directors. The Mutual Aid Association at Field- crest Mills was organized in 1926. It is a voluntary organization, but virtually 100% of the employees are members. Its purpose is to provide hospitaliza tion insurance for the members and their dependents. The Mutual Aid bene fits cover the entire cost of most surgi cal cases and expenses in other situa tions requiring hospitalization such as Personnel Group Meets At Meadow Greens Club Approximately 30 members of the Greensboro Area Personnel Association attended the group’s regular monthly meeting Thursday evening, October 5, at Meadow Greens Country Club. C. T. McNary, association president, presided. C. W. McLennon, of the Lynchburg Foundry Company, Lynchburg, Va., spoke on “The Supervisor As A Part of Management.” His talk was followed by a general discussion. Mr. McLennon was introduced by William McGehee, director of Personnel Research and Training at Fieldcrest Mills. Attending the meeting here were representatives from Fieldcrest Mills, Cone Mills Corporation, Vick Chemical Company, Dan River Mills, Washington Mills, Carter Fabrics, Spray Cotton r#*# V#, I maternity, etc. Experience of the Association has shown that a majority of the benefits are paid for dependents. Many such plans provide for coverage of employees only and not dependents. However, it is felt that employees will have to pay the bills regardless of whether they or members of their family are confined to the hospital. Therefore, the Mutual Aid Association provides for protection for all dependents as well as the em ployee himself. Two others members of the Kar astan Unit Board were not present for photograph. They are W. O. Highfill, vice-chairman, and Virgil Hall.■ Mill, U. S. Employment Service, Blue Bell, Inc., and others. The Greensboro Area Association is a branch of the North Carolina Per sonnel Association. The next meeting of the group will be at the Bliss Restaur ant in Greensboro, Thursday, Novem ber 2. ★ Visitors To The Mills And Offices From Other Sections of the Company T. H.
