We have a nice report from recent vacationers: Roy Thompson spenx a week at home with the exception of one day when he took a shot at a few Virginia squirrels. Mr. and Mrs. George Kilner and daughter, Anne, motored to Manhattan, Kansas, where they visited Mr. Kilner’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. Edmund Kilner. They were accompanied to Kentucky by Miss Frances Webster and Mrs. Betty Ratliff. Frances visited her sister and brother-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Eddie Taylor at Louisville, Ky. Betty visited her brother and sister-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Roy Hayes at Campbellsville, Ky. Mr. and Mrs. George Kilner spent two nights in St. Louis, Mo., with Mrs. Mary Gassaway, former Fieldcrest em ployee, who will be remembered here as Miss Mary Atkins. Walter Atkinson hasn’t returned from his vacation but we hear that he’s do ing some farming in a big way. It was nice to have Charlie Brown, retired Blanket Sewing employee, and S. S. Dodson, retired shop employee, visiting at the mill recently. We have had many visitors in our mill this year but this time the tables were turned when a group from the Finishing Mill Cost Department and Central Warehouse Office visited the DuPont Plant in Martinsville last Fri day night. Probably our last such picture for 1950 is the one above which shows Emma Borden of the Bedspread Winding Dept, who took advantage of September’s warmer days for sun bathing. Yes, that’s a Fieldcrest beach towel—made in Fiel- dale. A former employee of the Woolen Mill, Mrs. Borden has worked at Bed spread for the past four years.
