Miller, U. S. Savings Bonds Industrial Committee chairman for Rockingham County has announced successful completion of the drive to enroll the industrial plants of Rocking ham County in the Payroll Savings Plan for the purchase of U. S. Savings Bonds. This drive is the first stage of a program aimed at enrolling 25% of Rockingham County industrial employees in the Pay roll Savings Plan. The number of plants who have agreed to make the plain available to their employees has increased from 6 at the beginning of the drive to 24 at the preient time. These 24 firms, each employing 50 or more persons, will make the Payroll Savings Plan avail able to practically every one of the 7,889 industrial workers in the county. The second stage of the program will be the canvassing of all employees in the above 24 plants in order that all who wish to do so may sign up for this systematic, convenient method of sav ings. Canvasses of employees will be gin immediately. FIELDCREST MILL WHISTLE Organization Change Completed October 1 Effective October 1, J. G. Commins assumed full responsibility for the operation of the Electric Blanket Mill and J. P. Powell was relieved of any responsibility in connection with this mill to enable him to devote lull time to his other duties as manager of Bleachery, Finishing, and Central Ware house. The above organization change was announced September 29 by Harold W. Whitcomb, assistant general manager, and completes organization changes outlined in a notice dated September 5, 1950.
