Klein Is Appointed
Zion Mill Manager
M. C. Mumford, general manager, on
November 2, announced the following
organization changes effective as of
that date:
E. Stanley Klein, Jr., former rayon
sales manager, has been appointed
manager of the Zion Curtain Mill in
Zion, Illinois. He will be responsible
for both production and sales at the
Zion mill, reporting to the general
manager of Fieldcrest Mills. He will
make his headquarters at Zion.
O. D. Petty was appointed assistant
manager of the Zion Curtain Mill and
reports to Mr. Klein. He will in addition
resume the title and normal responsi
bilities of comptroller. C. F. Baker and
C. E. Sieloflf will report to Mr. Klein.
Others persons now reporting to Mr.
Petty will continue to do so for the
present.
E. W. Mulvehill was appointed rayon
salesmanager reporting to G. Lawson
Ivie with headquarters in New York.
J. Y. Crompton, acting comptroller at
Zion, will move to Spray to become
resident auditor at the mills.

Dr. Gilbreth is the
mother of twelve
children. The books
and the movie
“Cheaper By The
Dozen” and “Belles
On Their Toes” were
based on the life of
her family.
It will be a joint
Carolina Cooperative
Council and the Junior Council. It will
9lso be ladies night with Council mem
bers being accompanied by wives, hus
bands, or escorts. School teachers, mem
bers of the Business and Professional
Women’s Club, and the Credit Women’s
Breakfast Club will attend as guests of
^he Council.

The Fieldcrest Mills advertising ac
count is now being handled by Calkins
& Holden, Carlock, McClinton & Smith.
The newly formed firm resulted from
a merger with an old firm, known as
Calkins & Holden and includes three of
the top executives from N. W. Ayer
who left that company to form the new
agency.
Officials of the new firm visited the
mills October 26 and 27. They are

Annual Book Fair Set
For Nov. 16,17,18; 1,000
Volumes To Be Shown
The second annual Book Fair, spon
sored by Tri-City Council of Parent-
Teacher Associations, will be held at
the Leaksville Township Schools ad
ministration building Thursday, Friday,
and Saturday, November 16, 17, and 18.
From 10 a. m. to 3 p. m. on Thurs
day and Friday Miss Marianne Martin,
Rockingham County librarian, will con
duct a story-telling hour for younger
children. The various graded schools in
the township are cooperating in this.
At 10 a. m. Saturday there will be a
general story-telling session.
Actual book sales will be conducted
from 4 p. m. to 8 p. m. Thursday and
Friday and from 10 a. m. until 6 p. m.
on Saturday. Books available will in
clude those from children of pre-school
age through teen age. There will be
books of all types by well known
authors and publishers, including pic
ture books, nursery rhymes, and on up
the scale. More than 1,000 volumes will
be shown, including about 600 titles.
Sales will be made from stock with
immediate delivery and orders will be
taken for delivery early in December
after the stocks are depleted.
The Book Fair is a part of National
Book Week observance. F. W. Sturte-
vant is general chairman with Miss
Marianne Martin, assistant general
chairman. Working with Miss Martin
on the program are Mrs. D. A. Purcell,
Miss Sarah Hopper, and Mrs. Frances
Burton.
Assisting in laying out and decorat
ing the exhibit space a're Miss Betty
Cooper, Miss Elizabeth Smith, and Miss
Audrey Bauguess.
In charge of financial arrangements
are Miss Susan Abernethy, Mrs. Irene
Smithey, and Miss Lucille McCollum.
Publicity is being handled by Miss Ruby
Ziglar and Mrs. Florence Seibert.
