€ V. ^ Group Completes 50-Hour Loomfixing Course Ten employees of the Sheeting Weave Room completed a course in Febr^ry 7. The class' had met for two hours two evenings a week since November 5 The program was set up by our Training Dept, with the cooperation of the Leaksville Township Vocational School. Cecil J. Squires, foreman of the Bedspread Weave Room, was the instructor. The group held a dinner at Moore’s Grill signalling successful completion of the course. R. C. Going was toastmaster. J. E. Gardner of the Training Jeph and Mr. Squires made brief remarks. Invited guests' were: J. H. Ripple, H. T. Bundy, and T. B. Hamrick. Members of the class', left to right (seated) are: Henry C. Miller, director of Civil Defense, has announced several ap pointments in the local defense set-up. With J. F. Kemp and Jones W. Norman named assistant directors for Leaksville and Spray, respectively. Mr. Miller this week released names of local citi zens' who will serve as key figures in the air raid warning system. Bennet Nooe was appointed chief air raid warden for Leaksville. The follow ing were named district wardens: Le roy E. Sweeney, Sr., John Dyer, L. M. Barksdale, R. A. Turner, George John son, Phil Wall, and Claude Robertson. C. E. Hubbard, Jr., was appointed chief air raid warden for Spray. Dis trict wardens' to serve with him are: J. W. Saunders, William Dix, Ashley Greer, Norman Woodlieff, Rev. William Price, Robert Turner, and L. C. Lawson. Mr. Miller said that within the next few days the district wardens would be calling on their neighbors to request their services as' block wardens, thus completing the air raid warning organi zation.
