vacation at Pamlico Beach.
Kitty Hawk, Nags Head, Cape Hat-
teras, and the Outer Banks were the
vacation destination of Edna Howe and
family and Polly Gunn and her family.
Alma Lamar and her family spent
vacation week sunning at Crescent
Beach, S. C.
Jim and Katie Hankins spent the
week sight-seeing in Washington and
Annapolis.
Ila Caudle toured Washington, D. C.
and points in Maryland.
The Carl Grohs and Abilene Manley
spent the week at Cherry Grove Beach.
Joline McDaniel and husband had
loads of fun at Carolina Beach and
Manteo.
Noah Compton reports the fun was
never better at Carolina and Wrights-
ville Beach.
Madeline and Robert Meador, Kath
leen and Oscar Mills and Joy Wise had
an interesting and enjoyable trip to
Williamsburg and Jamestown.
Mae, George and Ann Kilner spent
two v/eeks on a trip to Kansas where
they visited relatives and friends and
did some sightseeing.
Sara, Richard, Gloria Jean and By
ron Hicks, along with grandparents,
Mr. and Mrs. E. G. Pendleton, took a
tour of the Great Smokies.
Joy and Clarence Taylor and three
young ones spent a few days on the
Carolina beaches enjoying the sun and

Joy and Louis Outland and Mr. and
Mrs. John Harter visited relatives in
Dayton, Ohio.
Welcome back to Juanita Gibson who
has been out for about 3 months.

ter Patricia spent their vacation in
Florida.
Kitty Mae Martin made a tour of
Jamestown and Williamsburg, Va.
G. T. Sykes and family attended the
graduation of his daughter Carolyn, at
Carlton College, in Northfield, Minn.
Anne Navey reports a wonderful
time at Myrtle Beach, S. C.
Audrey and Leon Ingram spent their
vacation at Myrtle Beach, S. C.
We welcome Phyllis Thomas as our
new file clerk.
We are glad to report that Geneva
Reynolds is doing fine after her recent
operation and will be back at work
soon.
Selma McCormack, who is taking a
leave of absence, was given a shower
in pink and blue by the girls in the
Cost and Payroll Departments.
We welcome Betty Joyce back in the
Payroll Department after an absence
of several months.

“Flick,” Lorine, and Kathy Pruitt re
port a grand time at White Lake dxu-ing
vacation; Lorine says the fire didn’t
get too hot for them as they stayed
the entire week.
Janice Sparks is wearing a glorious
tan she got while in Atlantic City.
Jean Parrish went to visit her folks
up in those cool mountains at Boone.
Ruby and Bill Hairfield say the
water’s still fine at Myrtle Beach, S.
C. It must be ’cause Nellie and Bill
Harvey were down there, too.
Floda Somers, after going to New
York City several weeks back, just had
to take off again. This time to the camp
meeting in High Point.
Several of our vacationers just spent
the time resting and relaxing at home
—June Harris, Nannie Gilley, and Mer
ita Hopkins.
Virginia Ashworth went on a riding
vacation up in Virginia and took in the
lovely mountain views. We’re sorry
that she was out sick part of the week
after vacation.
We’re most happy to have Gladys
Smith and that lovely wit of hers with
us, even if only a short time.
Yours truly traveled to Roxboro
with Robert and Hazel Powell to visit
their “country cousins.” Believe me,
everything they say is true! One eats
and lives in royal fashion—then brings
home all one can carry.

Fieldcrest Mills is Henry A. Chilton,
long-service employee of the Blanket
Mill wool spinning department. He
has 16 grandchildren. Eight of them
whose pictures were available, are
shown above.
