He commented on the 5 ^^'^Wth of the credit union since it bartered June 20, 1958. He said he felt the credit union of fers a genuine service to employees by providing a systematic means of saving through payroll deductions and by mak ing low-cost loans to members to fi nance important purchases or tide them over emergencies. Mr. Harris thanked the directors and committee members whose terms were expiring and congratulated them for the fine service they rendered the credit union during the year. C. J. Frank, chairman of the nomi nating committee, presented to the mem bership the following nominees who were unanimously elected by acclama tion: Board of Directors (two-year term). Jack Baker, Frank Barron, Rob ert Hair and T. B. Hamrick. Supervisory Committee, (one year), L. E. Chewning, chairman; C. J. Frank and R. R. Roberts; Credit Committee, (two years), Melvin Moore, Robert Moore, Jones Norman and Vance Reece. At its organization meeting January 26, the Board of Directors elected the (Continued on page eight) NO. 15 Community Groups Visit New Mill Unit Business And Professional Men Are Given Guided Tours Of Bedspread Finishing Mill Fieldcrest was host to the business and professional men of the Tri-Cities Sunday afternoon, January 24, when “open house” was held at the Com pany’s newest mill unit, the Bedspread Finishing Mill. Members of General Management and officials of the Bedspread Mill and the Bedspread Finishing Mill were on hand to greet the guests. Supervisors from the two mills served as guides to con duct the visitors through the plant. In an attractive display set up in the shipping room, a bedroom setting show ed the “Fascination” ensemble in pink, consisting of bedspread with color-co ordinated sheets, pillow cases, blanket, towels and “Pussyfoot” bath rug. Another bed showed a “Fredericks burg” colonial type bedspread. Panels along the wall showed other styles of bedspreads and examples of bedspreads coordinated with printed sheets, blank ets and towels. The visitors were divided into small groups and conducted on tours of the (Continued on page four) Management Reports To Be Presented At Joint Meeting Of Councils Management reports will be presented at a joint meeting of the Carolinas Co operative Council and the Junior Caro lina Council Wedneseday, February 10, at 7:30 p. m. in the Consolidated Central Y. M. C. A. President Harold W. Whitcomb and other officers will review the Com pany’s operations during the past year and will discuss the business outlook for Fieldcrest Mills, Inc. during 1960. Walter B. Guinan, president of the Karastan sales division and Frederic W. Hoit, president of the Fieldcrest sales division, will report on activities of the sales organizations. The “management reports” meeting, usually held in January, is always a highlight of the Council’s program year. A large attendance is expected at the meeting this week.
