Mr. Witt is a native of West Virginia,
and was employed in a furniture plant
at Martinsville, Virginia, before joining
the Towel Mill in March, 1954.

Fletcher Hopper, a doffer at the
Blanket Mill, is one of a number of
Fieldcrest men who grow roses as a
hobby. He has been growing roses for
Mr. Hopper is a member of the Tri-
City Rose Society and will participate
in the society’s first rose show Satur
day, October 1. The show will be held
in the gymnasium at Consolidated Cen
tral Y.M.C.A. and will be open to the
public between 1 p. m. and 9 p. m.
No admittance fee or entry fee will
be charged, but an offering will be
taken to defray expenses of the show.
