Scholarship Winners (Continued from Page One) Richard Watkins, Joyce Barwick, Dar lene Scott, and Wayne Hall. Miss Wilkinson and Mr. Jenkins re ceived the first scholarships in the fall of 1960. She is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Dwight Wilkinson of Fieldale, Va. Her father is foreman of the Plant Service Department at the Towel Mill. Mr. Jenkins is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Dennis Jenkins of Ridgeway, Va. Den nis Jenkins is a twister operator at the Bedspread Mill. Miss Wilkinson will be a senior this year at Richmond Profes sional Institute where she is majoring in commercial art. Mr. Jenkins will be a senior, majoring in chemistry, at the University of Richmond. Glenda Overby, Gale Rhodes, and Darrell Steagall received scholarships in the fall of 1961. Miss Overby will be a junior this year at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. She is majoring in mathematics. Gale Rhodes will be a junior at North Carolina State, the University of North Carolina at Raleigh, and will major either in textiles or mathematics. Darrell Steagall will be a junior majoring in textile manu facturing at North Carolina State. Miss Overby is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John H. Overby of Spray. Her fa ther is a shearing machine operator at the Bedspread Mill. Mr. Rhodes is a son of Mr. and Mrs. Carl D. Rhodes of Fteldcre^st Scholarship recipients are shown with Scholarship Committee. Darrell Steagall was employed in the Standards Department Products Shown In Fair Exhibit The Fieldcrest booth, showing some of our coordinated fashions for bed and bath and rug and carpet items by Kara- stan, was prominent among the exhibits at the Tri-City Agricultural Fair. Featured in the exhibit were towels in various colors arranged as a water color box and brush and an easel hold ing a new Happiness rug, “The Bowler.” The main part of the exhibit showed Romance Is A Rose printed sheets, tow els, bath rugs, shower curtins, and coordinated Royal Velvet towels. Also featured were Imperial Rose and 8 Queen’s Rose bedspreads, a Gold Crown automatic blanket, a Royal Chateau blanket, and packages of Romance Is A Rose printed sheets and Royal Velvet towels in solid colors. In addition to the Happiness rug shown, an Alexei rug was used on the floor of the exhibit and a waterfall design rack at the right displayed samples of new broadloom fabrics The display was arranged by John B. Buckner, Jr., assistant manager of the Fieldcrest Store, and Lonnie Hank ins, foreman of the Sample Department at the Karastan Mill when he * awarded the scholarship.
