The company had earlier announced that the corporation would donate $6,500, an increase of $500 over last year’s gift. The combined contributions of the employees and the company, tot aling $46,618, amount to 71.3 per cent of the community-wide goal of $65,353. Although the main drive at Field crest has been completed, a scattering of pledge cards, late for various rea sons, are yet to be received. This means that the final amount will be some what higher than the above. Accurate figures on the funds con tributed in the community outside of Fieldcrest are not yet available since the solicitations are still in progress. Thomas S. Harrington, general chair man of the over-all campaign, said he was confident the community will raise its share of the funds. He emphasized that the solicitations will continue until the goal is reached. Whether the county may sell $1.25 million in bonds to finance construction of the $1.75 million college (the state will pay $500,000); and 2. Whether county commissioners may (Continued on Page Eight)
