Additional gallon donors who became
eligible after the June 23 visit were Ed
L. Martin of the Finishing Mill and
Mrs. Fred W. Klein.
Of the 189 donors, 42 persons gave
blood for the first time and 75 gave
blood in the name of some person who
had received blood under the Tri-City
Blood Program.
John G. Cunningham, co-chairman of
the Tri-City Blood Program, expressed
appreciation to all of those who gave
blood or offered to give blood and to the
many volunteer workers who assisted.
He also thanked the several community
organizations and individuals who help
ed to make the Bloodmobile visit a big
success.
Giles Hunnings and Jones Norman, re
cruitment chairmen at the Bedspread
and Karastan Mills, respectively, thank
ed the donors from those mills for their
cooperation and commended them for
their unselfish support of a vitally-
needed community service.
Leaksville-Spray Moose Lodge No.
864 made its hall available for the
Bloodmobile and members of the lodge
assisted with recruiting donors and ar
rangements for the visit. The Leaks
ville-Spray Junior Woman’s Club coH'
ducted a telephone campaign to recbf
donors and remind them of their
pointments.
