Fieldale Makes Donation To March Of Dimes Employees of the Towel Mill, Fieldale, Va., through the Fieldale Community Fund, recently donated $807.59 to the Martinsville-Henry County March of Dimes. The March of Dimes contribution was the Fund’s first allocation in 1966. Do nations are to be made later to the Uni ted Fund, Heart Fund, Cancer Crusade, Cerebral Palsy, and other deserving agencies serving the Fieldale area. Under the Fieldale plan, only one so licitation is made in the Towel Mill each year. At that time, an employee may pledge a single contribution to be paid in small installments through pay roll deductions. The money raised is used for the Community Fund and other authorized fund drives. The funds are administered by a committee composed of representa tives from each department in the mill. Members of the 1966 committee are Sam Harris, Plant Service; Lester Har ris, Carding; Mary Lou Allen, Spinning James B. Dalton, Weave Room; Troy Hopkins, Weave Room; William Flana gan, Cloth Room; James Taylor, Dyeing; Roy Quesen- berry, Bleachery; Clyde Brown, Pack and Ship; Doris Stegall, Sewing; Glennie Hall, Sewing; Kathleen Gusler, Shipping Office; Ramona Nichols, Cost Depart ment; John West, assistant superintend ent, chairman. Davis Promoted To Asst. Foreman HARRY H. DAVIS The appointment of Harry H. Davis as assistant foreman in the Karastan Weave Room has been announced effec tive February 1. He was formerly a trainee. A native of Franklin, Ga., Mr. Davis graduated from Georgia Institute of Technology with a bachelor of textile engineering degree. He joined Fielderest in the Research and Development De partment at Spray in January, 1963, and worked briefly before entering military service. From February 1963 until February 1965 he served in the army as a first lieutenant in the infantry, stationed in Hawaii. Upon his return from active duty, he was assigned to the Muscogee Towel Mill at Columbus, Ga. as a trainee. He was transferred to Karastan in October 1965. Mr. Davis married the former Carolyn Nash of Snellville, Ga. They have a son, two years old, and live on Price road.
