Caraway, Jr., supervisor of mill accounting, was appointed as sistant superintendent of Warehousing and Shipping; Ted L. Spencer, cost ac countant, was named supervisor of mill accounting, replacing Mr. Caraway; and Robert H. Vf. Shorter, IBM operator, was named supervisor of machine ac counting in the Towel Mill Data Proc essing Dept. Mr. Caraway is a native of Montana but grew up in Mount Airy. He s' business administration after his uation from high school and is a ^ uate of the International Accoun Society, Chicago. He was secret treasurer of John Dunn’s Inc., in ston-Salem Immediately prior to ]0' Fieldcrest in 1955. He has been e^' ployed in the Towel Mill Data ing Department as an IBM op®'- since June of 1964. KENNETH W. FODDRELL WILLIAM R. MURPHY Foddrell And Murphy Promoted In promotions at the Sheet Finishing Mill, effective Feb. 1, Kenneth W. Fod drell, was promoted from assistant fore man in the Sheet Sewing Dept, to fore man of the Packaging Dept, and Wil liam R. Murphy was promoted from assistant foreman to foreman in the Storage and Shipping Dept. Mr. Foddrell is a native of Leaksville and a 1954 graduate of Morehead High School. He worked as a rug server in the Burling Department at the Karastan Mill prior to serving approximately four 8 years in the Air Force and attending High Point College where he received his B. S. degree in business administra tion in June, 1962. He was employed as a trainee in September, 1962, and be came assistant foreman in January, 1963. Mr. Murphy, also a Leaksville native, has been with the company most of the time since 1944 except when he was in military service 1946-47. He worked on production jobs at several of the mills prior to 1954 when he was employed at the Bleachery as a production control at your clerk. He later worked as second and as assistant foreman in the t* Finishing Dept.
