Cook of the Karastan Plant Service Department has been elected president of the Master Me chanics and Engineers organization at Fieldcrest, succeeding John W. Self of the Engineering Department. Also elected at the January meeting were R. I. Wilkerson of the Engineering Department, vice president; and Benny T. Eanes of the Purchasing Department, secretary. Following the business session at the January meeting, John Thomas of the Blanket Mill Plant Service Department, the January program chairman, con ducted the group on a tour of the new Bedspread Finishing Mill and the new Sheet Finishing Mill. Edith V. Aaron Retires; Was Inspector 35 Years Bill J. Blankenbaker Named Asst. Foreman Edith V. Aaron, of the Blanket Mill, retired under the Fieldcrest Pension Plan, effective December 1, but was not included among the pictures of those retiring at that time. Mrs. Aaron worked as an inspector in the Cloth Room during all of her 35 years of continuous service. In addition, she had worked in the Cloth Room off and on from 1918 until March 13, 1931, on which date her continuous service began. She is a native of Floyd County, Va., and lives at 321 West Carolina Avenue in Draper. She is now in California where she has been visiting a son and his family for several weeks. Bill J. Blankenbaker was promoted from management trainee to assistant foreman at the Karastan Service Center effective Monday, January 16. He is a native of Oklahoma City and served in the Navy from 1947 until 1951. From 1951 until he joined Fieldcrest in October, 1966, he was associated with the Arabian American Oil Company in Dhahran, Saudi Arabia, supervising the receiving and shipping of oil and rehned products.
