Barbecue was served close to the employees’ usual group at Service Center waits patiently for pl’ Outstanding Record Employees of the Karastan Mill com pleted an outstanding safety record of 2,906,807 man-hours without a lost-time accident from September 16, 1965, through May 30, 1967, amounting to an average of 4,071 hours per employee. Although the plant’s record w.as broken when an accident occurred on June 3, 1967, the Karastan Mill earlier had received the Award of Honor, tlie highest award given by the National Safety Council. The Award of Honor was earned by working two million man-hours without a disabling injury. Karastan employees are shown as they enjoyed a barbecue dinner given in recognition of their fine record. It was the second consecutive year that they had won a barbecue by working an average of 2,000 hours per employee without a lost-time accident.
