Swedish Couple Makes Visit To Karastan Mill
Mr. and Mrs. Gunnar Bengtsson, of
Gothenburg, Sweden, were recent visit
ors at the Karastan Rug Mill, Eden.
They toured the showroom, Designing
Department, and the manufacturing
areas and stated that “These are the
most beautiful rugs we have ever seen.”
The Swedish couple was in Eden to
make official visits to the Leaksville-
Spray Y’s Men’s Club and the Draper
Y’s Men’s Club. Mr. Bengtsson was the
international representative at the Y’s
Men’s regional convention held in High
Point recently. In Sweden he is a re
gional director of the Y’s Men’s Brother
hood Fund, used to promote interna
tional relationships.
While in America, Mr. Bengtsson
visited approximately 25 Y’s Men’s clubs
throughout the country.
The visitors were accompanied on
the tour of Karastan by J. D. Huffman,
of the Fieldcrest Purchasing Depart
ment, who is president of the Leaks
ville-Spray Y’s Men’s Club and Ralph
Snider, the new program director at
Consolidated Central YMCA and a
member of the Leaksville-Spray club.

Jones Named Head Of Chamber Of Commerce
John W. Jones, who is associated with
Fieldcrest’s Mount Holly Spinning Mill,
has been elected president of the Mount
Holly Chamber of Commerce for the
1968-69 term.
Mr. Jones is supervisor of mill ac
counting for the Mount Holly Spinning
Mill and the Worthville Spinning Mill.
He was transferred to Mount Holly from
the Towel Mill at Fieldale, Va. ,in Feb
ruary, 1965.
A native of Nashville, N. C. he is
married to the former Miss Alice Tyson,
also of Nashville. They are the parents
of two daughters, Lisa Lynn, seven
years old, and Lori Ann, who is four
years old.
A graduate of East Carolina Univer
sity, Mr. Jones is a member of the First
Baptist Church, vice president of the
Mount Holly Rotary Club and past di
rector and secretary of the club, is a
director of the chamber, and is active
in the Charlotte Chapter, National As
sociation of Accountants.
