Four Promoted To Asst. Foremen
New assistant foremen appointed at
various mills in recent weeks are pic
tured on this page.
Ronald R. Cain was appointed assist
ant foreman in the Karastan Finishing
Department effective October 8. A na
tive of Hoisington, Kansas, he studied
social science and business at Kaasas
State Teachers College prior to serving
in the Navy from 1960 until 1964. He
joined Fieldcrest in 1966 as a control
tester at the Blanket Mill, later serving
as an industrial engineering technician
and industrial engineer at the Blanket
Mill.
Milton R. Crouch was promoted from
project machinist to assistant foreman—
machinery construction in the Karastan
Mechanical Development Department
effective October 1.
A native of Eden, Mr. Crouch has
been employed at Karastan since 1962.
He first was a floor worker in the
Weave Room and became a project ma- .
chinist helper in the Mechanical De

a project machinist from May 1965 un
til his promotion to assistant foreman.
Charles E. Frye was employed as an
assistant foreman in the Weave Room
at the Bedspread Mill, effective Sep
tember 12. He is a native of Galax, Va.,
and was for 11 years a weave room
supervisor at Galax Weaving Co. Im
mediately prior to joining Fieldcrest he
supervised and trained personnel in con
verting from dobby to jacquard weav
ing at James Fabrics, Cheraw, S. C.
Edney H. Lail, laboratory supervisor
at the Bedspread Mill, was appointed
assistant foreman in the Sheeting Mill
Carding Department September 30. He
was born in Pittsylvania County, Va.,
and first joined the Bedspread Mill in
1965. He worked as a fixer in the Quill
ing Department prior to taking super
visory training in 1966. He was assist
ant foreman in the Bedspread Mill
Carding Department before becoming
laboratory supervisor September 1967.
