William °ore to the mill in which the highest g®fcentage of employees pledged a Fair ^5re. It was the third consecutive year that the plaque had been won by the Sheeting Operation employees. The percentage of employees giving a Fair Share in the other areas was 71.6 percent for the Blanket Operation; 65.3 percent for Karastan; and 64.5 percent for the Bedspread Operation. Among staff departments, the Indus trial Enginering Department and the Plant Engineering Department each had 100 percent participation on a Fair Share basis. The Industrial Engineering De partment won the President’s Plaque due to the fact that the pledges repre sented the highest percentage of base pay among the staff departments. The Plant Engineering Department includes the central staff. Filter Plant, Scrubbing, Yard Cleaning and Office Janitors. Automatic Blanket Plant at Smithfield had 75 percent participation with 343 of the 460 employees donating in some amount. A total of 265 people, or 58 percent, contributed on the Fair pay basis. All pledges and gifts amount ed to $5,826. Winners in the drawings conducted among those who gave on the Fair Share basis were Treva B. Dixon, of the Blanket Wiring Department, who re ceived a Fieldcrest blanket; Helen P. Long, of the Product Service Depart ment, a towel set; and Georgia R. Jones, Blanket Wiring Department, a sheet and pillow case set. At the Foremost Screen Print plant at Stokesdale, approximately 90 percent of the employees contributed to the campaign and approximately 83 percent gave a Fair Share. The $3,110 raised was allocated to the various areas where the employees live. Allocations were as follows: 42 per cent to Greater Greensboro United Fund; 29 percent to Stokes County Uni ted Fund; 18 percent to Forsyth County United Fund; and 11 percent to Reids- ville United Fund. ets and Mill Accounting, General Ac counting, Auditing, and General Man agement. Mill departments or units in which 100 percent of the employees gave a Fair Share included: Non-Woven Mill, Cotton Picking Department at the Blan ket Mill; Stock Dyeing Department at Blanket Mill; Film Bag Department at Central Warehouse; Superintendent’s Office at Sheet Finishing Mill. To Receive Certificates Each of the foregoing departments or units is to receive a Certificate of Merit from the Tri-City Community Fund. In addition to the President’s Plaques and the Certificates of Merit, drawings are to be held by mills among those who contributed a Pair Share. Winners will receive $15 gift certificates good for any purchase at the Fieldcrest Store. In addition, the names of all em ployees who gave a Fair Share will be included in the drawing for a grand prize, a 9 X 12 Karastan oriental design rug. The drawings are to be held at the Fieldcrest Store with representatives from the various mills attending. Law rence Mann, Fieldcrest campaign chair man, said the date and time of the draw ings are to be announced later.
