A. Brown, Jr., vice presi dent—merchandising, made the trip to familiarize themselves with the mills and see the operations first hand. While in Eden, they toured the Gen eral Offices, Bedspread and Sheet Fin ishing Mills, the Fieldcrest Store, Kara- stan Rug Mill and Research and Quali ty Control. Karastan Spinning Mill has a goal decreasing waste by 13% during the three months of 1969. The rate of JJ^Sste reduction through week ending was a whopping 28%. V The Winchester Spinning Corporation is conducting a similar waste reduction program. The goal there is a reduction of 18% in the three months beginning February 10. The rate of waste reduc tion through March 9 was 11%. Towel Mill Names Top Weavers, Fixers Named below are the Fieldale Towel Mill’s leading weavers and loom fixers for the most recent periods of record. In order to encourage quality and ef ficiency in the weave room, the mill each week singles out for recognition the weavers and the fixers with the best performance records. The top quality weavers are those with the lowest percent of seconds with respect to the standards for the various loom groups. The top fixers are determined by a combination of low seconds and high loom efficiciency on the sections for which they are responsible.
