Alisa Durham Alisa Gwen Dur ham, pictured here at 16 months, is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Elbridge G. Durham of 408 Stadi um Dr., Eden. She is the grand daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Louie Durham, Sr. of 405 West Ridge Ave. Mr. Dur ham is employed in ^ the Blanket Mill Weave Room. Alisa* great-grandparents are Mr. and Mr*' Lee Hopkins, both of whom are eC>' ployed in the Sheeting Mill Wea^'® Room. Alisa is the great-great granddau#' ter of Luther J. Hopkins, a retired eiW' ployee of the Blanket Mill. Basketball Team Places Second In Tournament The Draper “Y” girls basketball team is pictured above with a trophy rep resenting their runner-up position in the Junior “Y” Girls Interstate Basketball tournament. The tourney was held at Albemarle during March. From left to right are, Jackie Myers, Jana Scharff, Pat Edwards, Tanya Woods, Robin Powell, Bonnie Myers and Robin Shreve. Bobby Oakley Receives Eagle Scout Award McBride Twins Duncan Boys Todd O’Neal and Tina Leigh McBride are the children of Mr. and Mrs, Tom mie McBride. The twins are four years old today, April 14. Mrs. McBride (Jackie) works in the Quality Control lab, and Mr. McBride is a former Fieldcrest employee. Grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. E. C. McBride, retired Sheeting Mill em ployees, and Mr. and Mrs. C. E. Hunt er, Sr. Clay, 9, and Jimmy Wayne, 8, are sons of Second Class Gunner’s Mate and Mrs. William A. Duncan. They are grandsons of Mr. and Mrs. George Dun can. Mr. Duncan is employed in the Blanket Mill Weave Room. Gunner’s Mate Duncan is currently stationed at Port Dupont, Md. He is making a career of the service and has been in the Navy for 15 years. His wife, the former Sadie Harris, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Somerset Maughan Lori Lemons Lori Michelle Lem ons is pictured above as she celebrated her first birthday on February 24. Lori’s mother, Patsy, is em ployed in the Bed spread Finishing Mill office. Bobby Oakley, 15, son of Mr. Mrs. R. Carson Oakley of 211 S. St., Eden, has received his Eagle ScO'^ Award. The Eagle Scout ceremony was co^' ducted by J. M. Robertson, Sr., scow master, and R. E. Scarborough, troOP committee chairman of Boy Scouts ° America, Troop 8, of which Bobby i® ^ member. The troop is sponsored by Leaksville United Methodist Church' Bobby has served in several po**j in his troop and is currently a pa**’® leader. He is a member of the Ord® of the Arrow, treasurer of his g church group, and a member of high school concert band, wind 6*’^ semble and stage band.
