Prizes To Be Awarded
For Waste Reduction
At Karastan Spinning
Employees of the Karastan Spinning
Mill at Greenville made a substantial
reduction in waste during the first six
months of 1969 in a special program in
which all employees participated.
A number of other company units
patterned a waste reduction program
after the Greenville plan with good
results.
To stimulate interest in the waste
reduction program at Greenville for the
remainder of the year, a special contest
was launched July 28 to continue
through September 21.
Six 9 X 12 rugs are to be awarded in
drawings among the names of the em
ployees in the departments or shifts
which make the best showings in ex
ceeding the waste reduction goals in the
eight-week contest period.
Officials at the Karastan Spinning
Mill anticipate a successful second half
in waste reduction and think that a new
record in waste reduction will be es
tablished for the entire year of 1969.
