Karastan—Yvonne V. Meadows, Set ce Named Superintendent Of Foremost SEPTEMBER Thomas E. Boyce, assistant superin tendent of the Fieldale Towel Mill, was appointed superintendent of the Fore most Screen Print, Inc., plant at Stokes- dale effective September 15. He re ports to Felix A. Euforbia, president and general manager of Foremost Screen Print, Inc. and replaces Max W. Eggles ton, who resigned. Mr. Boyce formerly was superintend ent of the Mount Holly Spinning Mill and earlier had served as general night foreman and as foreman of the Carding and Spinning Department at the Fieldale Towel Mill. He is a native of Joanna, S. C., and joined Fieldcrest in 1961 as a manage ment trainee at the Towel Mill. He re ceived a B. S. degree in textile engineer ing from Clemson University and an M. S. degree in textile technology from the Institute of Textile Technology, Charlottesville, Va. 19 6 9 ting, 9 X 12 rug; Maggie N. Joyce, Set ting, week’s vacation; Charlie M. Dal ton, Production Control, and Alfred E. Doss, Service Center, YMCA member ships. Sheeting Operation.—Dewey A. Law rence, Weave Room, 9 x 12 rug; Ruth S. DeJournette, Sheet Finishing, week’s vacation; Mary B. Corum, Sheet Finish ing, and Clifton L. Chumley, Sheet Fin ishing, YMCA memberships. Staff Departments—Ella M. Hunter, of Spray Cost, 9 x 12 rug; Jane G. Reynolds, Medical Department, week’s vacation; John N. Pinkard, Yard Crew, and David L. Bryan, Leaksville Indus trial Engineering, YMCA memberships. All the prizes were given by Field- crest Mills, Inc. and were not taken from campaign funds. In the highly-successful campaign at Fieldcrest, the employees gave outstand ingly generous support to the YMCA project, pledging $220,000 to exceed by 47 percent their original goal of $150,000. The Bedspread Mill (including Bed spread Finishing) won the President’s Plaque to be given by President G. Wil liam Moore to the mill division with the highest percentage of employees pledg ing on the “three minute s a day” basis. A similar plaque to be awarded among the staff departments was won by the Industrial Engineering Department with the Research and Engineering Depart ment in the runner-up position. The plaques, suitably inscribed, are to be presented to the winning units for permanent display at their respec tive locations.
