Frank Barron Heads Christmas Seal Drive Frank E. Barron, manager of the Bed spread Mill, is chairman for this year’s Christmas Seal campaign for the Rock ingham - Caswell - Stokes Tuberculosis and Health Association. Mr. Barron is also serving his second term as president of the local association. The colorful Christmas Seals, the only fund raising activity of TB associations, have been mailed to about 20,000 area residents. Mr. Barron said this campaign is strictly by mail—no one calls at homes or on the telephone. “We would like for people to use the seals now,” Mr. Barron said, “so as to bring them to the attention of other people and encourage them to use their seals and make their donations to the tuberculosis and health association. We also would like to get returns in from people who have received the seals as soon as possible.” Mr. Barron stressed the importance of the Christmas Seal campaign by point ing out that tuberculosis has not been licked as many people think. He said this is still a prevalent disease, and in addition, there is a great increase in other respiratory diseases such as em- Carroll Is Transferred To Eden Service Center Michael D. Carroll, formerly super visor of mill accounting at the Nye- Wait Rug Mill in Auburn, N. Y. has been reassigned to supervisor of mill accounting at the Karastan Service Center, Eden. Mr. Carroll, a native of Delaware, graduated from Louisiana State Univer sity with a B. S. degree in accounting. He joined Fieldcrest at the Leaksville Mill Accounting Department in Septem ber, 1967, as a senior mill accountant. He was transferred to the Nye-Wait Rug Mill in October, 1968, and was super visor of mill accounting there until his recent transfer to the Karastan Service Center in Eden. FRANK E. Money contrib uted during this campaign, Mr. Barron said, is used to fight such respiratory diseases, as well as for research, public education, therapy and future planning. idren’s Christmas es Are The annual Children’s Christmas par ties for the Eden-Fieldale areas have been scheduled for Sunday, December 21. The parties are for children and grandchildren of all active or retired employees. The Eden party will be held at 4 p.m. in the auditorium of Morehead High School, and the Fieldale party will be held at 2 p.m. in the Fieldale-CoUins- ville High School gymnasium. Stockings will be distributed to each child present and entertainment will also be provided. The entertainment and other details on the parties will be an nounced at a later date. Other mill locations will also hold Christmas parties, with those dates and places to be announced later when ar rangements have been completed.
